Le premier album solo de John Lennon est réédité en version remixée, et avec de nombreux bonus. Sortie le 16 avril.

Plastic Ono Band est le premier album solo de John Lennon.  Sorti le 11 décembre 1970, John et Yoko avaient commencé à écrire et à faire des démos à Abbey Road pendant l’été. Après la séparation des Beatles, John et Yoko se sont accordés une période de réflexion et d’expérimentation, avec pour résultat les chansons de Plastic Ono Band largement influencées par la thérapie du cri primal d’Arthur Janov.

John a réussi à trouver en lui-même une profondeur émotionnelle et une honnêteté que peu d’artistes avaient atteints auparavant. Le résultat : peut-être l’album le plus honnête et le plus brut émotionnellement qu’un artiste ait publié.

Avec un petit noyau dur composé de Ringo Starr à la batterie, de son vieil ami Klaus Voorman à la basse et co-produit par Phil Spector, l’album se classe dans le top 10 des charts anglais et américains.

Il est aujourd’hui considéré comme le meilleur album solo de la carrière de John Lennon avec des classiques comme Mother, Working Class Hero, Isolation, God. Les singles Give Peace A Chance, Cold Turkey et Instant Karma ! (We All Shine On) sont inclus dans cette réédition.

Cette nouvelle édition propose un voyage extraordinaire, qui nous conduit des séances d’écriture, à l’enregistrement des démos, jusqu’à l’étape finale de production avec Phil Spector. Ces nouveaux mixes révèlent une profondeur sonore, une définition et une clarté à couper le souffle.
